Care Item Drive for Homeless Female Veterans

The Massachusetts Stand Down is a program designed to help the nation's estimated 200,000 homeless veterans "combat" life on the streets. Homeless and at risk veterans are brought together in a single location for one to three days and are provided access to the community resources needed to begin addressing
their individual problems and rebuilding their lives, including counseling, doctors, dentist, career coaching, etc.

This year the American Legion Auxiliary is partnering up with the VA to put together 60 hygiene bags for homeless female Veterans who will attend the Stand Down.

The items that we are looking for are:
toothbrushes
toothpaste
tampons/maxipads
deodorant
washcloths/towels
white tees
socks
hairbrushes/combs
chap-stick
lotion
shampoo/conditioner

Any little bit will help us. These items can be dropped off with the bartender at the Members Lounge or in the blue bin on the front porch of the American Legion Post 235 located at 51 Summer Street in Maynard.

Coupons for these items will also be graciously accepted, as we can use them to help use purchase remaining items. They can be dropped off or mailed to the post.

Any questions or comments you can contact Unit President Amanda Carlson at carlsonfamily19@...

Please pass along to anyone who you think would be willing to help. Thank you =)
